Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the process for Debt Recovery / Debt Collection?
We use completely legal pre-court and court methods to recover debt; including notices of demand, mediation, negotiations, settlement agreements, escalation to litigation, garnishee proceedings, seizure and sale of property, judgment debtor summons, bankruptcy/winding up proceedings.
We focus on the most effective methods with minimal upfront cost to you. Our expertise is to secure payment quickly, cost-effectively, and within the law.
2. How long does the debt recovery process take?
For our pre-court recovery service, we usually allow up to 8 weeks to obtain a response from the debtor. If they remain completely unresponsive, we return the file to you with no further charges.
For court proceedings, timelines vary depending on the complexity of your matter. We’ll give you a realistic assessment before you decide whether to proceed.
3. How are your fees structured for debt recovery?
We work on a minimal upfront fee model, designed to keep costs proportionate to your results.
For an accurate quotation, reach out to us on WhatsApp for a free case assessment. We’ll explain clearly what fees apply and what options you have before you commit.
4. Can I recover interest, late payment charges or my legal costs from the debtor?
It depends on your contract or prior agreement with the debtor. If your terms include interest, late payment charges, or indemnity for legal costs, we can claim for them.
Where no such clause exists, we’ll advise you on alternative strategies to strengthen your recovery.
5. I do not have any signed contracts or complete documentation; can I still recover?
Yes. Many debts can be recovered with WhatsApp or email evidence, invoices, or proof of delivery. We’ve resolved numerous cases with limited paperwork.
Every claim is worth assessing — don’t write off your debt just because you lack a formal contract.
6. Are your recovery methods legal?
Absolutely. We are a law firm regulated by the Malaysian Bar Council.
We are not “debt collectors.” All our methods are legal, professional, and enforceable in court. Our focus is always on protecting your rights — while safeguarding your business reputation.
